Health Benefits of Good Work

Health Benefits of Good Work position paper

The Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA) is a proud signatory to the HBGW and is a member of the HBGW Signatory Steering Group (SSG).  The SSG was established in January 2015 and comprises members from a range of stakeholders including statutory authorities, healthcare organisations, re/insurers and national employers.

The purpose of the HBGW Australian SSG is to further champion the integration of the HBGW policy agenda in the industry sector. ARPA is committed to devoting significant time and resources to the SSG and to the increasing awareness and adoption of the HBGW across all Australian workplaces, including promoting the benefits of becoming a signatory.

The workplace rehabilitation industry can be instrumental in bringing the concepts and principles of HBGW to life across Australian workplaces and in the healthcare field.  A Workplace Rehabilitation Consultant (WRC) uses their allied health qualifications and high-level communications skills to assist people with disability, illness or injury, to recover at work and achieve independence at home, in the workplace and community. This makes them pivotal in achieving health, social and financial outcomes benefiting all stakeholders.
