ARPA members are requested to contribute to a research project on Work Focused Cognitive Therapy (W-CBT), see information below.

Title of the research project

Is it effective? A qualitative study of practitioners' and recipients' perspectives on Work Focused Cognitive Therapy (W-CBT).

Research project aims

  • Explore the experiences and beliefs of Work-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (W-CBT) from the perspectives of practitioners and recipients, and;
  • Explore the outcomes experienced following W-CBT, whether W-CBT was able to support the outcome of them.

Participation in this research project is completely voluntary and if you decide to participate you may withdraw at any time. If you decide not to participate there will be no consequences or penalties.

Participate if you are:

  • Aged over 18, and;
  • You are a health professional and have participated in work focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in the last 12 months, or;
  • You have been a recipient of health care in the last 12 months, which included work focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Work focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

For this study, W-CBT is defined as an intervention where (1) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is combined with a return to work (RTW) intervention, (2) RTW is a goal of the intervention, and (3) the intervention was delivered by one practitioner (i.e. it was a standalone intervention).
