To ensure a professional, collaborative and effective partnership between the Workplace Rehabilitation Provider (WRP), the WC agent/insurer, employer and the worker who is being treated, this position paper, which can be used across all jurisdictions, has been developed to highlight:
- the right to privacy and confidentiality of medical records
- the vital role the WRP plays
- that the WRP does not have ownership and therefore cannot distribute the report unless instructed to do so by law and by use of the proper communication channel.
